Excessive Android OS Data Usage
location: droidmania.com - date: May 17, 2012
Device - HTC ONE S - O2 UK
Since 27th April (when my plan resets itself) until today, Android OS has consumed 105mb of data! Just over 20% of my allowance!
This baffles me as I have disabled all social networking apps, restricted dropbox and play store updates to Wifi only, turned auto sync off too but it still chews up my data!
It seems to have gone awry on the 11th May as from then until now it has used up just under 85mb and since the upgrade on 14th May (via wifi), the spike has increased somewhat further!
Today alone it has used nearly 8mb!
Can anyone recommend something as this is totally unacceptable.

How much data(mobile/wifi) dose your Android OS using?

[Q] Android OS data usage
location: androidpark.com - date: February 2, 2014
Hi I bought my G Pro a couple of months back with a 2gb data bundle. Within the first few weeks, I noticed that Android OS was using quite a bit of data (around 600mb), I looked around on the internet and found that most sites' solution was to turn of backups under "Backup and Reset". I did that and it seemed to work for a while but now the problem came back, in the span of 1 week Android OS somehow managed to rack up 491mb of data. If this continues I'm going to have to pay extra charges. Is it possible that some of the data use recorded was from WiFi?
Background Android OS Data Usage...0.9 GB IN UNDER A WEEK!
location: androidpark.com - date: October 6, 2013
-Auto-update only over Wi Fi networks
-Restrict mobile data selected
-Backup my data de-selected
-Auto-sync data disabled
-No accounts currently synced (no FB, email, etc.)
How the f*&% is this possible?
[Q] Android factory data reset will NOT remove anything
location: androidpark.com - date: July 26, 2011
To whom it may concern:
I have rooted my HTC HD2 according to this forum and it has been working well. Recently, I try to sell the phone so that I need remove my personal information including my google account information.
So I have done the privacy, factory data reset routine. However, I have tried several times and every time the phone is back on, my google account information is still intact. Click gmail will go right back to my email information.
Would you please suggest what I have missed here?
Thank you very much.
Android contacts data?
location: androidpark.com - date: August 16, 2012
Where do android contacts store data locally? I mean the data of the contacts as vcf or whatever file on the phone.
And are the data in the same place with third party synced contacts like Facebook sync?
