Can't uninstall google map street view
location: androidpark.com - date: July 16, 2011
before I installed google map street view I read the reviews and did see reports of ppl not being able to uninstall. Although there was some other posts saying that to uninstall it you had to go to maps and click uninstall updates.
Well after doing a factory reset and reformatting both internal and external memory, google map street view is still installed. I updated the stock maps and then clicked uninstall updates, yet the street view is still installed? any suggestions?
Google Navigation Not Saying Street Names
location: droidmania.com - date: April 28, 2012
Tried using Google Navigation last night. All the voice said was "turn left" or "turn right". It did not say the street names. Anyone else have this problem? I'm running stock 4.0.2 on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
Google Navigation doesn't say street names
location: droidmania.com - date: March 17, 2013
I know this issue has been discussed before on the forums, but it's always been left unresolved or the solutions in the threads don't work for me. I have an HTC One S running Jelly Bean 4.1.1 with Maps 6.12.0. When I'm in navigation all I get is "in 200 metres turn right" or "in 500 metres take the ramp". Never any street or highway names.
I also have a Nexus 7 tablet (JB 4.2.2, fully up to date Maps) and there's no issue on it at all - street names work perfectly. Could this be an issue with this version of Jelly Bean? A search comes up with suggestions like uninstalling Maps updates, clearing the cache, and clearing data on Maps and the Google TTS engine. I've done all that but the problem persists. I don't think it's device specific - a Galaxy S3 user running the same version of Android has the same problem - link
I've tried a few other apps but none of them are as good as Google Maps. Waze says street names but the audio quality is terrible. MapQuest does too
Google Navigation not saying street names
location: droidradar.com - date: October 8, 2013
Is anyone else having the issue where Google navigation is not saying street names? It looks like some people have fixed by rooting and flashing Google TTS engine, but I don't want to root the phone just yet as I'm w/in my 14 day return window. Does anyone know of a non-root way to resolve?
I've tried uninstalling updates to Google Maps. I have not done a factory reset on the phone just yet.
It's really odd to listen to it with no street names:
"In 500 ft turn ... right. Then turn ... right"
Thanks for any help.
Android WebView: can't get desired coordinates from map image
location: droidradar.com - date: January 23, 2012
I am running into a problem in map display in Android. I have created a world map in HTML using image and allow the user to click on the map to get in to specific continents based on the co-ordinates. When the user clicks outside of the map no co-ordinates are received, which is what I want. It works fine in HTML. However, when I use Android WebView to display the map (html) the user is able to click outside of the map area and send me the closest co-ordinates within the map. The user should not be able to select outside the map but I canít seem to stop the WebView from sending me the co-ordinates.
Can anyone help? I have spent days trying to solve this, but have not been able to. Would greatly appreciate some insight into this.

Map app to log where ive been?
location: droidmania.com - date: November 24, 2013
I'm quite a keen traveller and all I want is an app to show pins of where ive been.
It needs to be offline based and not gps photo tagging as I will inevitably delete some photos.
Hope this makes sense?

Sometime this week my new moto g will arrive. I am buying it only because I need a better phone to help me with my job. My xperia arc is just too slow. I am starting a summer job driving a delivery truck in sweden. Google maps is just fine for highway use but here in sweden there are a lot of smaller gravel and dirt roads and they are not always mapped. I need an app that makes it easy to create custom routes and update current routes that are a little off.
I was looking at waze but I don't know if its what I really need.
Is there an app that I can turn on and maybe push a button at business a and then push a button at business b and be able to name and save that route easily and quickly?
I will be taking the next week or two to ride along with a driver basically as a helper and to learn the route. So I will not have too much time to type in and save all kinds of information. I need a fast and easy way to save my route(s) so I have them when I must go myself. Remember many of these
