Widgets disappear on my Galaxy S5
location: droidradar.com - date: May 7, 2014
I have had my phone for less than a week. Yesterday I noticed that the time/weather widget and my s - calendar widgets keep disappearing. I swipe to the magazine and back and they return... then a few minutes later...gone again. I am not sure why this is happening but it is very frustrating.... any help would be appreciated.
Widgets Disappear and Reappear After Home KeySupport
location: droidmania.com - date: September 28, 2012
I have the Verizon version of the GS3.
Sometimes when I am browsing the web or something and hit the home key to return to my home screen, the widgets I have on the screen, such as Touch Calendar, Glass Widgets Clock and the default Samsung Bookmarks widget, will disappear for a half a second and then re-appear again.
Similarly, with Handcent, when I reply to a pop-up text message, after I click send, the widgets disappear and re-appear in a similar fashion.
I mean, this is not a dealbreaker or anything, but it's just a bit annoying. Is there anything I can do to make it stop doing this?
Weatherbug Elite widgets disappear
location: droidmania.com - date: December 16, 2012
I have a Sprint Nexus S 4G. Not rooted. I paid for Weatherbug Elite. The couple most recent updates seem to have screwed up the widgets.
When I turn on my phone, any Weatherbug widget is simply gone from the home screen. I have to reinstall the widget each time. And when I turn on USB storage, not only does the widget disappear, but the option to add any Weatherbug widget does, too, until I turn off USB storage. Then I can add the widget back.
Obviously, this is a pain in the butt. I downloaded the most recent free Weatherbug to see if it worked, it works 100% fine. So something's up with Weatherbug Elite. Any suggestions? Weatherbug email support's been of no help.
All shortcuts and widgets disappear from home screen after 2.1 update
location: droidfarm.com - date: March 31, 2010
Since I applied the 2.1 update (manually) I have had all icons and widgets disappear from my home screen 2 times. Each time it was after updating an app in the market (Easy Spirit Level, Bluetooth File Transfer, and Astro). I updated Easy Spirit Level first and while it was downloading and installing I set the phone aside. A couple of minutes later when I woke it up and hit Home I was left with nothing but a picture frame widget; all other icons and widgets were gone from all 3 home screens. I rebooted and all was well.
Next I updated Astro and Bluetooth File Transfer and did the same thing, let the backlight time out. When I woke it back up and hit Home this time, everything was gone from all 3 home screens. Again I rebooted and all was well again.
I tried installing a new app to see if I could replicate it that way but didn't have any trouble.
I'm wondering if it has anything at all to do with the market or just coincidence. And if it is market related, is it exclus

Anyone have or have had the problem of, after a restart, the widget had a "Problem Loading" and then aren't in my widget options?
I will then go to my Apps and they show it's downloaded but I can't use the widget unless I redownload the app.

Sprint Note 2: After 4.3 Update; can't add multiple lock screen widgets
location: droidradar.com - date: November 25, 2013
I've gotten my 4.3 update, and one of the things I was excited to finally have was lock screen widgets, but I have found that the options that are in the S4, for multiple widgets, they aren't there for for the Note II after the 4.3 update. Has anyone else seen the same thing? Or attempted this?
Home screen icons and folders disappear
location: droidmania.com - date: February 13, 2013
Hi, Android user since 2008 or so, but not one that has ever rooted or modded or overclocked or any of that stuff. I'm a help desk tech with Windows but was never a programmer. I don't tinker with an expensive phone because I'm afraid to break it and my warranty.
That being said, I just got this Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G as a replacement for a defective TMobile MyTouch 4G Slide. I like the look of it and the Android 4.0 but there are some things that popped out quick as annoyances.
I got the phone yesterday and used MyBackup Pro to put my old data and apps back on the phone. I started customizing. And I downloaded a few more apps (trying to find a decent FM Radio app for one as I miss that from my myTouch 4G Slide). Every time I'd download an app, a shortcut would be placed on my home screen. Usually my main one. Whether there was space for it or not. Sometimes it would put a shortcut on top of another one. Other times it would simply replace what I had put there. And ot
deleted applications' icons won't disappear
location: droidmania.com - date: July 4, 2012
The phone is a samsung galaxy fit S 5670L (lantinamerican version)
I changed the carrier OS to the gingerbread 2.3.4 (using odin-bini-rom)
I rooted it with "FitGingerRoot.zip" (upgrade via sd)
I installed "Root Explorer v2.16.apk". With this program I have been deleting some of the default apps that came with gingerbread, wich I do not use (clock, stock, weather, and other widgets, youtube, etc). It has Super User permission. To delete them I explore with the program in "/system/app", I find the apk by it's icon, and delete them with "long hold" and "delete" (first I mark "mount r/w").
The problem I have is that when I deleted the calculator and the "Email" (an envelope with the "@" sign), the icons have not disappeared from the drawer after restarting the phone.
The calculator was "/system/app/Calculator.apk". The "Email", I do not remember. The rest (10 or so)
Question regarding ImageView cropping / sizing and alignment in app widgets
location: androidpark.com - date: March 2, 2013
I have a special problem and didn't find a solution for it yet. So I hope that anybody here had a similar issue and can point me to a solution.
Basically I use an ImageView inside my widgets. When the image is smaller than the ImageViews space then there is no problem.
The problem raises when the image gets bigger than the ImageView.
In some cases I want that the image doesn't get scaled but cropped and then aligned due to the users option.
What I want to achive is that the ImageView gets as big as the image and then is aligned (top, right, bottom, left). The rest of the image should get clipped by the container.
All I could achive until now is that the image gets cropped and centerd (all done by the ImageView).
Here is the xml I use for the widgets:
